"Super Mario Bros 2" was released for the Nintendo on October 9, 1988, and is the sequel to the smash hit "Super Mario Bros." The 2D side-scrolling platform game allowed players to choose either Mario, Luigi, Toad, or Princess Toadstool to navigate through the dream world of Subcon to defeat the main antagonist Wart to restore freedom to Subcon. The game sold 7 million copies and was based on the Japanese release of "Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic," with the game modified for release outside of Japan.

The presented copy features a "REV-A" label, a "Small Warranty" label, a "9-Digit Zip (USA Code)" label, and a black round Nintendo "Seal of Quality," indicating that this copy was produced between January 1988 and March 1989.
