Noted for his legendary power, Pittsburgh Pirates slugger will forever stand with the unlikely accomplishment of having been the last player to hit for the cycle at Brooklyn’s Ebbets Field. This autographed game ball was used on the day the burly outfielder accomplished the feat, June 25, 1950. The Official National League ball features Kiner’s vivid signature in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot. One panel features, in print, “6-25-50, Ralph Kiner Hit for Cycle,” under which is another signature followed by “HOF ‘75”. Printed on the opposite panel is “GAME BALL, EBBET(sic) FIELD, PIRATES 16, DODGERS 11.” The ball shows a good deal of toning and some minor scuffs, as well as what may be tape marks from display use. The signatures themselves are quite clear, comes with MEARS LOA/JSA certified authentic.
