This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/8/2015
Offered is a handwritten, signed letter by former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman dated “13th November, 1964,” just two years into the band’s Hall of Fame career. The letter is drafted on “THE DAYTON BILTMORE, Dayton, Ohio” letterhead and comes from the second leg of the Stones’ first-ever tour in the United States. Wyman’s letter is addressed to a “Miss Gwyn Keen” of Essex, England, and describes in part how well the tour is going and that “our records are beginning to sell like mad at last.” The letter is drafted in bold, blue marker and signed by Lyman at the bottom along with the inscription “Stones,” which is circled. The original addressed and stamped envelope is included with the letter and is postmarked “19 NOV 1964.” The signed letter comes with a JSA LOA.
