The Detroit Tigers had several contributors during their 2014 run to the American League Divisional Series playoffs, including promising rookie Nick Castellanos. The third baseman posted 11 home runs and 66 RBI in 2014. Castellanos sported this grey game-used Tigers button-down road jersey while going 2-for-4 with a run and RBI against the Twins on Aug. 23, 2014. “Detroit” appears across the chest of the jersey in navy blue on orange and white tackle twill. “CASTELLANOS” appears across the top back of the jersey, while his number “9” graces the front and reverse sides, all in matching navy blue on orange and white tackle twill. The front left tail of the jersey boasts a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label initialed “JSG” by Tigers clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel in black sharpie. A white strip tag below reads “9 48 ’14 321.” The jersey shows moderate evidence of game use, with a small dirt stain area on the back right collar, and is certified under the MLB Authentication program, number “HZ557946.”
