As Derek Jeter wrapped up his 20 year Hall of Fame career, each team in the league honored his last visit to their city, but none was as significant as the August 28th, 2014 game in Detroit. This stop on the Jeter farewell tour was especially poignant as "The Captain" grew up in Michigan and was a Tigers fan as a boy. Since it would be the last time he would appear as a ballplayer in Detroit, the Tigers pulled out all the stops to honor the local kid who made good. This third base was used in the first 3 innings of the game and its sides carry two special plaques - one honoring the 2013 Champion Tigers and the other commemorating Derek Jeter last game in Detroit. The base shows great game use with a nice portion of the Detroit infield turf clinging to its surface. A white strip of adhesive tape has been affixed to the top of the base on which "DEREK JETER's LAST GAME AT COMERICA PARK" is hand written in black marker. MLB Authenticity HZ308547
