Pete Rose, Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leader with 4,256, sported these game-used Philadelphia Phillies pants during a 1982 season that saw “Charlie Hustle” earn the final of his four All-Star appearances with the organization. The white pants with red pinstripes feature several markings on the inner waist band, including a stitched size “33” on a “Wilson” manufacturer’s label. A white strip tag to the right of the Wilson label reads “Rose 82 3 28 ½,” while a faded “40” penned in black sharpie rests on the center of the inner waistband. The far left of the band reads “FRYER,” referencing Phillies minor leaguer Paul Fryer, who must have worn the pants as well at some point. Rose’s game-used pants show light-to-moderate signs of use, highlighted by some dirt staining. The game-used pants come with an LOA from noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
