Although Hall of Famer Phil Niekro signed with the New York Yankees for the 1984 season, after spending the previous 17 seasons with the Brave, this authentic home white pullover Atlanta Braves jersey was issued for the 1984 season. This size 44 knit jersey was manufactured by Wilson and features the "BRAVES" script sewn on in an upward diagonal pattern in blue and white tackle will with red outline stitching. Niekro's "35" is sewn on in the same tackle twill pattern beneath the "BRAVES" script and on the back of the jersey. The collar and sleeves have a blue, white and red ribbed material with the left sleeve covered in a black armband to honor former player and coach Tommie Aaron (the younger brother of Hall of Famer Henry Aaron) who passed way in August of 1984. Niekro signed and inscribed this jersey "315-Ws 3,342-Ks H.O.F-97" in black marker. This jersey comes with a full LOA from Mears and a LOA from PSA/DNA for his signature (V13665).
