1999 was a season of both highs and lows for Cal Jr. Just before the season began his father Cal Sr. passed away followed by an injury that had him out of the lineup once the season began. He capped off 1999 the same way with a season ending injury. However, in between Cal had the best offensive year of his 21-year career, batting .340 and averaging a homer in every 18.4 at-bats. This 1999 Louisville Slugger P72 un-cracked. The model number, length and weight specifications have been confirmed by the manufacturers ordering records as being ordered by Cal Ripken Jr. during the referneced labeling period. Cal’s number “8” is hand written on the knob end and the Hall of Famer has signed the bat’s barrel. A great gamer from baseball’s Iron Man. Letter of Authenticity 1B09607 from PSA/DNA.
