New York Mets right-hander Matt Harvey was turning heads during a dazzling 2013 season when an elbow injury prematurely ended his campaign. Fully recovered, the Mets’ ace figures to be one of the best young pitchers in baseball for the foreseeable future. Harvey offered a glimpse of what he’s capable of in 2013, when he went 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA and 191 strikeouts in just 178 1/3 innings pitched. He donned this game-used orange Mets button-down alternate jersey in a July 24, 2013 contest against the Braves. The jersey, worn on Hispanic Heritage night, reads “Los Mets” across the chest in blue on white tackle twill. “HARVEY” appears across the top back with his number “33” on the front and reverse, all in blue on white tackle twill. The left sleeve of the jersey features an “ALL*STAR GAME 2013” commemorative patch, as the game was played at New York’s Citi Field that season. The front left tail of the jersey boasts a Majestic Authentic Collection manufacturer’s label reading “SIZE 48” with a white butterfly tag above showing “#33 48 +2B ’13 S1” and a scan bar. The jersey shows light evidence of game use and comes with a COA from the Mets as well as MLB Authentication, number “EK490991.”
