New York Yankees and Dominican professional baseball starting pitcher Michael Pineda was originally signed as an international free agent with the Seattle Mariners in 2005, making his debut in 2011. In his rookie season he was named to the American League All-Star Team and was traded after the season to the New York Yankees. Worn during the last game of the season in front of a sold-out crowd, Pineda pitched 6.1 innings that September 28th 2014 game. Pineda only gave up three hits and one earned run, while racking up 10 strikeouts for the 9-5 win against rival Boston Redsox at Fenway Park. Notably, this was the last game for New York Yankee legend, Shortstop Derek Jeter, which saw him record his final hit, a RBI single.
