Hall of Fame relief pitcher Mariano Rivera was no stranger to the All-Star Game during his brilliant 19-year career. Baseball’s greatest all-time closer was a 13-time selection for the event, including in 2006 when the lifetime Yankee notched 34 saves while posting a sterling 1.80 ERA. Rivera wore this black pullover American League jersey during events such as the Home Run Derby leading up to the actual All-Star game in Pittsburgh. The one-button collar jersey features “AMERICAN” across the chest in yellow on black tackle twill with a stitched red background. The back of the jersey boasts “RIVERA” across the top in yellow tackle twill, with his iconic number “42” below in yellow on red tackle twill. The left sleeve of the jersey features a commemorative “MLB 2006 ALL*STAR GAME” patch, while the right sleeve is home to a stitched Yankees logo patch. The front left tail of the jersey boasts a “Majestic” manufacturer’s label that reads “2006 ALL*STAR GAME PITTSBURGH.” The left side seam of the jersey is home to a “Majestic COOL BASE” and size “48” tag. The jersey shows light evidence of game use and is verified under the MLB Authentication program, number “BB200843.” An image of Rivera wearing the jersey can be viewed at:
