Barry Bonds, Major League Baseball’s all-time home runs king at 762, joined the 500 club on April 17, 2001 in a game against the Dodgers. The historic shot came in the eighth inning off Los Angeles reliever Terry Adams, helping lift the Giants to a 3-2 win. This Rawlings OML Selig baseball, used during that memorable night in San Francisco, was signed by Bonds in bold, blue ink along with the inscription “#500 HR” on the east panel. The baseball’s sweet spot features the signature of Giants catcher Benito Santiago, also in bold, blue ink, along with the inscription “foul ball 4-17-01 vs dodgers.” It is likely Santiago caught this ball on a foul during the course of play. The dual-signed baseball from Bonds’ milestone night comes with a Bonds signed COA and holographic sticker, number “AP005053,” and a PSA/DNA LOA.
