Wife of President John F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy was known for her love of preserving the arts and historical architecture. Years later after the assassination of her husband JFK she remarried, marrying Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, and she found work as a book editor for Doubleday. In this letter dated, “April 26, 1965,”
Mrs. Kennedy thanks U.S. Attorney General Katzenbach for making a donation to the Kennedy Library, signing her name in black ink. A Handwritten postscript appears at the bottom of the letter where she writes, “dear Nick - Thank you for the letter which you wrote me - Everyday when I read about the things you are doing - I am so proud of you - J.” This letter measures 6.25” x 9” and comes with the original envelope it was mailed it, which bears her printed free frank. Item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (Y03119).
