After becoming deaf and blind at nineteen moths old, Helen Keller was educated by teacher Anne Sullivan, who taught her how to communicate. Keller later became an author, lecturer, and a political activist who supported the working class and she advocated on the behalf of people with disabilities. These five pages of Braille where once owned by Helen Keller and they each measure, 9” x 11”. One of the pages of Braille has the transcription, “Helen Keller -to- The American Foundation for the Overseas Blind, Inc. assignment,” written above it, while two other pages feature a few lines of Braille each and the last page which had been previously folded across the center is double sided.
