Instrumental in the founding of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, J. Edgar Hoover became its first director in 1935 and held that position until his death in 1972. This matted photo of the controversial Fed measures 9x11.25” in all and is personalized on the matte, “To Tommy J. Riggs, Best Wishes, J. Edgar Hoover,” along with the date, 10-16-61. The black and white posed shot bears the mark of “Autrey Hollywood,” and has some toning but no discernible damage. Comes with Letter of Authenticity from PSA.
