As the scion of the first family of major league baseball in the 1930s and 40s, Joe DiMaggio became part of the American fabric. Woven into art, society and athletics, the fisherman’s son from Martinez, Calif., shone brightest in Yankee Stadium’s centerfield. In his 13-year career, Joltin’ Joe never missed an All-Star game. He won three AL MVP awards. And he served his country during World War II, losing three entire seasons. What could have been? DiMaggio boldly autographed this 36-inch, mint condition, 125-model, Louisville Slugger in the sweet spot, between the label and barrel head in vivid blue Sharpie. The signature is clean and clear. Below his autograph he inscribed “Yankee Clipper”. Powerized is engraved above the label. GENUINE LOUISVILLE SLUGGER and “Joe Di Maggio” are scripted at the barrel’s head. Below this, 280/361 is written in black Sharpie, indicating this bat’s limited edition. The knob sports a “Joe DiMaggio Enterprises hologram, and this item is also accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA(Z00018).
