October Legends and Americana Ending November 14th

After the excitement of Bobby Thomson's pennant winning home run, the
only thing that could stop the momentum of the 1951 Giants was the New
York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers easily won their 18th pennant that year
and not only had the services of Joe DiMaggio but also his heir apparent
Mickey Mantle. This 1951 club was the only time the two greats would
play together marked the changing of the guard as the Yanks moved into
the configuration that would dominate the 1950's. This unmarked ball
features Joe DiMaggio on the signed the sweet spot followed by fellow
Hall of Famers Johnny Mize, Bill Dickey and a rookie named Mickey
Mantle. Other notables on the ball include Allie Reynolds, Johnny Hopp,
Spec Shea, Joe Collins, Tom Ferrick, Charlie Silvera, Gil McDougald, Tom
Morgan and twelve more of the World Champs. The original owner has
written "N.Y. YANKEES '51" above DiMaggio's signature. The black
fountain pen ink has faded somewhat with age but the key signatures of
DiMaggio, Mantle and Mize are very legible. Ball shows light toning from
age. A great ball capturing the end of one great Yankees career and the
very beginning of another. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
