If it wasn't for a chronic sinus/eye ailment, George Sisler would be remembered next to Ty Cobb and Ted Williams as the greatest hitters to ever hold a bat. His 1922 season in which he hit an incredible .420 and led the AL in hits, stolen bases and triples may have been the greatest single-season performances in the history of the game. When the Hall of Fame was founded in 1939 Sisler was one of the first inductees. The Hillerich & Bradsby bat shows moderate use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks and stitch impressions on the barrel along with cleat imprints. The bat's weight of 41.2oz is consistent with Sisler's bat orders from the 1923 period; however the length of 34" is 2" shorter than those ordered in 1923. PSA/DNA has determined that this length and weight bat could have been ordered in 1924 but this cannot be definitively stated. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B04533) from PSA/DNA.
