A dream come true for Red Sox fans of any age, this affectionately compiled collection of vintage felt pennants includes a tremendous variety of sizes and styles of Red Sox specific pennants accumulated by a very hardcore fan dating from the 1940s to the 1980s. Among the 107 pennants in the collection 39 are the standard 12” x 30” size most often seen and sold at Fenway Park. Many of these contain the words “Boston Red Sox” or “Fenway Park” and some are specific to events including the 1958, 1959, 1961 and 1962 All-Star Games. Others commemorate The Red Sox pennant winning and World Series teams including the 1946, 1967 and 1986 teams and others are devoted to specific players like Ted Williams, Car Yastrzemski and Tony Conigliaro as well as photo pennants containing team pictures of the 1967 squad and Fenway Park. The collection also includes many mini (8” x 22”) and even micro-mini (1 ½” x 3”) pennants including a Sarasota, Fla. Spring Training home of the Red Sox pennant and a ticket-stub sized coupon card advertising a 1949 promotion that would give the collector a 4” x 9” pennant in exchange for 10-cents and five of the coupon cards. This particular collector must have had a lot of dimes and coupons; the collection contains dozens of the 4” x 9” pennants.
