The most animated member of the St. Louis Cardinals colorful 1934 “Gas House Gang,” World Series champion team, Hall of Famer “Dizzy” Dean turned in the finest performance of his career that year going 30-7 leading the National League in wins, winning percentage (.811), shutouts (7) and strikeouts (195). Dean went 2-1 in the World Series against the Detroit winning games One and Seven and captured the National League MVP award. Dean signed this caramel colored and shellacked baseball with his distinctive flair in black ballpoint ink on a side panel. Almost all of the manufacturer’s labeling has worn off the ball but remnants of its Reach branding remain on a side panel. Ball contains a drilled hole on one sweet spot where it was apparently mounted for display and comes with PSA/DNA LOA certification #V12364.
