Phil and Joe Niekro have more combined wins (539) than any other pair of big league brothers. Older brother Phil pitched in the big leagues for 24 years compiling 318 wins and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1997. Younger brother Joe was no slouch either racking up 221 wins in his 22-year career. The pair of knuckleballers pitched together briefly for the 1973 and 1974 Atlanta Braves and were re-united with the New York Yankees in 1985. It was younger brother Joe who visited the mound to tell older brother Phil that their father had just been released from the Intensive Care ward while Phil was in the process of winning his 300th game which made the day all the more special: Click Here! This Bobby Brown Official American League ball was used during Phil Niekro’s historic 300th win game, an 8-0 complete game shutout of the Toronto Blue Jays on the last game of the 1985 season, and was signed by Niekro on the sweet spot in blue ball point pen with a “300” and “10-6-85” inscription. The clean off-white ball displays only light game use as it was most likely eluding the Blue Jays bats all day and comes with PSA/DNA COA certification #X86550.
