This lot features two balls signed by one of baseball’s biggest family names, the Griffey’s. Perennial All-Star and future Hall of Fame outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. hit the 500th home run of his remarkable career on June 20th, 2004 against the St. Louis Cardinals becoming the sixth youngest player to reach the milestone. His home run helped propel his club, the Cincinnati Reds to victory as his father Griffey Sr. was in the stands to witness his son make history as Griffey Jr. later joked, “Happy Father’s Day!” This Rawlings Official Allan H. Selig baseball was used during the game and comes MLB Authenticated (MR248621). Also included is a Ken Griffey Sr. signed Rawlings Official Bowie Kuhn (Haiti) 1980 All-Star Game baseball. Griffey Sr. has signed in blue ink across the balls sweet spot along with the inscription, “1980 All-Star MVP.” Lot includes MEARS LOA and JSA LOA.
