For the sixth time in seven seasons, the New York Yankees reined as American League Champions in 1955. Extending another trend, the Bronx Bombers collided with their cross-town rival Brooklyn Dodgers in that year's Fall Classic. (Teams representing the Big Apple boroughs met in six World Series engagements from 1947 through 1956.) Offered here is a superb light cream-colored OAL (Harridge) sphere bearing 30 black or dark blue ink signatures from that Junior Circuit squad. Signatures include: Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra (sharing the sweet spot), with Casey Stengel (Mgr.), Tom Carroll, Andy Carey, Robert Cerv, Jim Konstanty, Tommy Byrne, Hank Bauer, Rip Coleman, Tom Sturdivant, Joe Collins, Phil Rizzuto, Ed Ford, Bob Wiesler, Don Larsen, Elston Howard, Bob Grim, Tom Morgan, Jim Turner (coach), Bob Turley, Frank Crosetti (coach), Ed Robinson, Charlie Silvera, Jerry Coleman, Gil McDougald, John Kucks, Bill Skowron, Billy Martin and Frank Leja. The ball boasts past ownership by former New York Yankees pitcher Bob Weisler (a signer of this ball, who played in the major leagues from 1951 through 1958) and is accompanied by his signed LOA. LOA from PSA/DNA.
