In the late 1920's and 1930's there was no better third baseman than Freddie Lindstrom. His ability to move runners around the bases made him indispensable to the mid-1920's Giants pennant winners and he was tabbed to succeed John McGraw as the team's manager when he was traded to Pittsburgh. Lindstrom used this bat during the 1934 season in Pittsburgh and then when he was with the World Series bound Chicago Cubs in 1935. A lifetime .311 batter and peerless third baseman, Lindstrom was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1976. The Louisville Slugger Lindstrom Professional Model bat shows heavy use with a cracked handle repaired with clubhouse nails. Many ball marks with stitch impressions cover the barrel along with cleat imprints. The bat once had side-written instructions from the player from when it was returned to the Louisville factory for reproduction. Unfortunately the date and inscription are illegible and the game use by Lindstrom can not be confirmed. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B06598) from PSA/DNA. An extremely rare player bat, with only FOUR (including this one) in the PSA database.
