Dying is easy, comedy is hard. When Robin Williams passed away in 2014, he left behind a comedic legacy that may never be matched. From his ground breaking stand-up comedy, which established him as perhaps the finest improvisational comic who ever lived, to his work on television and in film, Williams forged an enviable body of work that few could have imagined. After years toiling on the stand-up circuit, Williams caught his break in 1978 when he was cast as alien Mork on the television show Happy Days. A hit series, Mork and Mindy, followed, and Williams soon found himself landing film roles. His breakthrough role came in 1987, when he starred in Good Morning, Vietnam. A decade later, he won an Oscar for his role in Good Will Hunting. In addition to the Academy Award, Williams also received 2 Emmys, 6 Golden Globes, 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards and 4 Grammys during his illustrious career. He is also a founding member, along with Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal, of the Comic Relief Fund, which raises money for the homeless.
