Already established as one of the best catchers in the game, Gary Carter's trade to the New York Mets in 1985 was the final piece needed for the Mets rise to the top. Carter's leadership and big bat became readily apparent from his first summer in New York as he hit .281, 32 homers and an even 100 RBI. This bat dates from The Kid's first year with the Mets. The Louisville Slugger P89 model bat shows heavy use and is un-cracked. There is some dead wood with a section missing plus many ball and stitch impressions along with bat rack paint streaks. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and Carter's number "8" is written on both ends of the bat. A great Gary Carter gamer with all the bells and whistles you want on a Hall of Famer's bat.
