For Bucky Dent, 1978 had two lasting memories. First, he hit the three-run home run off Red Sox pitcher Mike Torres in the tie-breaker game at Fenway Park that propelled the Yankees into the playoffs. Then, Dent led the Yankees to their 22nd World Series title with an MVP performance in the World Series as the Yankees defeated the Dodgers for the second straight Fall Classic in six games. Dent signed his name in bold blue ink and inscribed “Game Used 10-15-78 World Series Game #5”. This Official Bowie Kuhn 1978 World Series baseball was used during Game 5 and shows excellent game use. The Commissioner’s and “75th World Series” logo stamp are still in excellent bright red condition. This baseball comes with a full LOA from Mears for its game use and a LOA from JSA (Y48819) for Dent’s signature.
