Holy Cow! After his playing career ended in 1956, Phil Rizzuto moved directly into the announcer’s booth to broadcast Yankee games on the radio. Starting in 1957, straight through to his retirement at the end of the 1996 season, Rizzuto established himself as the most beloved Yankees announcer of all-time. This mesh, navy blue batting practice jersey, worn by Phil Rizzuto during spring training in 1983, bears the NY interlocking logo on the left breast and Rizzuto’s not-yet-retired-at-that-time #10 on the back. Rizzuto has signed and inscribed the jersey on the back, vertically on the numeral 1, reading “Phil Rizzuto Spring Training”. This item is accompanied by an LOA from Steiner.
