What can you say about Walter Johnson? The great Ty Cobb called Johnson "the most threatening sight I ever saw in the ball field" and said his fastball "hissed with danger". He's second on the all-time career wins list with 417 and led the AL in strike outs 12 times - 8 consecutively - and is the all-time leader in shutouts with 110. For ten years in a row he had seasons of 20 or more wins and when he hung up his spikes in 1927 he was the founding member of the 3,000 Career Strike Out Club, then sat alone as its only member for 30 years. On top of the black and white statistics, Johnson was a gentle man who exemplified all that was good with baseball. To sum it up, Walter Johnson was the most dominating pitcher in the history of baseball. Period. The Big Train has signed the side panel of this 1940-1942 William Harridge Reach Official American League ball in black pen and inscribed "To "Bob" Best Wishes". The black pen ink has faded some with age and grades in the area of 5/10. The ball remains very clean and the Reach stamping is bright and clear. A rare single signed ball from the greatest pitcher of all-time. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (W05301)
