On August 11, 2014 Derek Jeter added another feather in his cap by surpassing Honus Wagner on the all-time career hits list. The milestone was particularly significant as Wagner is credited as being the greatest shortstop of the 20th century and Jeter surpassing Honus was perceived as almost a passing of the torch from one century's great to the next. This Selig Official Major League Ball was used during that historic game at Baltimore's Camden Yards. Chase Whitley served up this ball to Ryan Flaherty in the bottom of the 8th which went in the dirt for a ball. The ball shows good game use with expected scuff and turf marks on its surface. A blue 60th Anniversary logo is on one of the panels and Derek Jeter has signed the opposite panel in blue ball point. An added notation of "12/18" is added beside the signature and Steiner and MLB holograms are affixed. A game used ball that was there the day one timeless shortstop surpassed another timeless shortstop's record. Steiner COA and MLB Authenticated Hologram(EK348995).
