This is the actual U.S. Passport belonging to the legendary baseball player Pete Rose. Issued in 1983 and expired in 1993, this passport covers the most controversial time of his career when he was accused of gambling on baseball games while a player and Manager for the Cincinnati Reds from 1984-1989. In 1989, three years after his retirement as a player, amidst these allegations Rose agreed to a lifetime ban from baseball. The passport includes his original color photograph stamped by the U.S. Department of State mounted on the opposing page that he has signed in black ballpoint pen. The passport is stamped for travel to Japan and is a marvelous personal relic from one of baseball's most legendary players. Rose's career spanned 24 years as a player after being named Rookie of the Year in 1963. Among his many achievements is his historic feat of passing Ty Cobb's record for career hits.
