Under new head coach Hubie Brown, the Kentucky Colonels reached their zenith in 1974/75, winning 22 of their final 25 games and then soaring through the ABA playoffs. Artis Gilmore's 28-point, 31-rebound performance capped off a 4-games-to-1 championship series triumph over the rival Indiana Pacers. According to a 2010 article in the Courier-Journal newspaper, "Hubie Brown insists to this day the '74-75 Colonels were the best of his 13 teams, 11 of them in the NBA. 'They could play both ends of the floor, had a fast-break game, had a half-court game and had excellent three-point shooting,' he said. 'The total package.'" Point guard Ted McClain's Jostens 10K-gold, size 12 ring showcases a real diamond, rates NM and is accompanied by the rare original 5" x 4" x 2" presentation logo box. For those trivia buffs out there, "Hound Dog" McClain was the defensive wizard who happens to still hold the ABA record for most steals in a game with 12! Our research shows this is the first player ring from this team to be offered for public sale. Comes with Letter of authenticity from Ted McCLain.
