One of the staples of baseball practice from the Little Leagues to the Big Leagues is the fungo bat. Longer and lighter than a normal bat, a coach can use the fungo bat to hit balls with pin-point accuracy to test a players fielding ability. This lot collects 6 Major league team stamped Hillerich & Bradsby fungo bats.
The oldest of the group is a vault marked fungo bat dating to Connie Mack's 1937 Philadelphia Athletics followed by a fungo bat dating to the 1944-1948 New York Yankees. The other four bats are a 1950-1952 St. Louis Browns model, a 1950's Brooklyn Dodgers model, 1950's Boston (either Braves or Red Sox) model and 1959-1960 Philadelphia Phillies model. Each bats barrel is stamped with the team city or name and exhibit great batting practice use and wear. Letter of Authenticities (1B11060, 1B11061, 1B11062, 1B11063, 1B11064 and 1B11071) from PSA/DNA.
