Each of the 500 cards has been graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by GAI. A tremendous multiple! These LeBron James debut pieces are much scarcer and notoriously more difficult to preserve than the few Topps and UD issues of James from the same period. (Subscribers and newsstand buyers alike were confounded by how easily the Sports Illustrated For Kids cards could be damaged, even before being subjected to active circulation.) The James rookie cards offered here shared space with the likes of Michelle Kwan, Jaromir Jagr and Alfonso Soriano on 9-card sheets in S.I. Kids' May, 2003 issues, and they required great care in removal to achieve their high grade. Additionally, their "No Bleed" variety – wherein the tips of the perforations show no traces of the Soriano and Brad Johnson designs that once shared their borders – is particularly desirable. These are highly sought-after collectibles of an extraordinarily talented and popular player, in Near Mint to Mint-plus condition.
