This spectacular framed display contains two exceptional items that pay homage to the Yankees' great catcher and team captain, Thurman Munson (1947-1979). The first Yankee captain since Lou Gehrig, Munson died tragically in an airplane crash, and his popularity and mystique continue unabated among baseball enthusiasts. The offered presentation includes:
"Thurman Munson" Multi-Signed 16" x 20" Photo – This black-and-white, game-action shot of Munson is adorned in the margins by 39 bold, paint pen signatures of former teammates and Yankee colleagues. Signature highlights include: Chris Chambliss, Ron Guidry, Goose Gossage, Mel Stottlemyre, Pat Dobson, Bobby Murcer, Sparky Lyle, Bill Virdon, Roy White, Horace Clarke, Bernie Allen, Jim Wynn, Duke Sims and Fritz Peterson. Thurman Munson "Final Game" Full Ticket – Encapsulated and graded MINT 9 by PSA. The fresh and uncirculated piece was issued for admittance to the Aug. 1, 1979 visit of the Yankees to Chicago's Comiskey Park; the New York club prevailed on this occasion, with Munson recording a walk and a run in the 9-1 triumph. He passed away on Aug. 2.
