Initiated on April 15, 2004, Jackie Robinson Day is celebrated each year on the anniversary of his Major League debut. On or around that date, all MLB on-field personnel wear jerseys bearing Robinson’s #42. This New York Yankees home jersey was game worn by Brett Gardner on April 16, 2013, a home game at Yankee Stadium hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks. Gardner went 1-for-5 on the day with a double as the Yankees defeated the visiting D’Backs 4-2. This pinstripe, button-down Yankees home jersey, #42, features the iconic interlocking NY logo adorning the upper right chest, while the universal “42” can be found on the back, in matching style, along with an MLB logo patch stitched directly beneath the collar. The jersey shows heavy game use, with a huge dirt stain down the front of the jersey. The “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label on the front left tail is accompanied by a white patch that reads “11 44 ‘13”, as well as an inventory label below the manufacturer’s tag that reads “0000003248.” The jersey comes with an SCP Auction letter from the Jackie Robinson Foundation, along with MLB Authentication Hologram Sticker, #EK653053.
