Graded NM 7 by PSA. Hall of Famer. At the time of this collectible’s release, Mickey Mantle had just come off a season in which he led the league in home runs for the third time in four years. (Remarkably, he only set the pace for the circuit one more time, in 1960.) Topps typically produced its earlier series' cards in larger quantities than the later ones, but that was not the case when this Mantle card emerged in 1959: the first 110 cards in the ’59 release are somewhat difficult to come by, especially in high grade with quality image alignment. The offered card boasts exemplary centering for the issue, and also delivers a bright and unfaded obverse presentation. The card’s colors are strong, and its corners appear barely touched. Near Mint condition.
