This is a Honeywell Reach for Excellence Award, given to Terry Cummings as the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA Basketball game played between DePaul and Notre Dame on February 28, 1982. The award is housed in a hinged wooden box measuring 3”X7”X11” when closed. Once opened, the left hand side of the award features a golden hand holding a torch, mounted on a purple felt background. The right side of the award displays a gold plaque which reads “Honeywell Reach For Excellence Award Presented to Most Valuable Player NCAA Basketball Game: DePaul at Notre Dame Date: February 28, 1982 Player: Blue Demons Terry Cummings”. This plaque is also mounted on a purple felt background. The wooden box has been signed in black marker on the outside “Terry Cummings 1982 MVP.” The box exhibits some minor scratching, and the upper hinge The award is accompanied by a player LOA signed by Cummings himself.
