After serving as a Naval aviator in WWII, George Bush attended Yale where he played first base and captained the school’s baseball team. His flashy fielding earned him the nickname “Yale’s Fancy Dan”. Bush has the distinction of playing in the very first 2 College World Series’ and throughout his presidency kept a well-oiled first baseman’s glove in the drawer of his desk in the Oval Office.
