When Detroit repeated as winners of the ALCD, it was the first time the team repeated a title since the 1934-35 season. The Tigers had a loaded team in 2012 which featured three All-Stars: Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. The pitching staff was top-notch with Verlander and Max Scherzer finished first and second in the American League in strikeouts. Doug Fister set a new American League record when he struck out 9 Royals in a row. Miguel Cabrera owned AL pitchers that season batting .330 with 44 home runs and 139 RBIs to lead the league and becoming the first player in 45 years to win the Triple Crown. Going into the post season the Tigers beat the A’s 3 games to 2 and then swept the Yankees in 4 games before being stopped by the Giants in the World Series. This is the special 2012 Rawlings Post Season ball used in the play-offs and features that year’s logo in silver ink. Signed in blue ballpoint by 29 Tigers including Justin Verlander, Jim Leyland, Prince Fielder, Max Scherzer and Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
