Hall of Famer Rod Carew spent the last seven of his 19-year Major League career with the California Angels, where he batted .314 and led the Angels to a playoff appearance in 1982. The 1967 American League Rookie of the Year and 1977 American League MVP finished his career with 3,053 career hits and a .328 batting average, which earned him enshrinement into Cooperstown on the first ballot in 1991, with over 90% of the vote.
This gray road California Angels pullover jersey, from the 1982-84 era based upon the jersey’s tagging, was worn by Carew. Sewn on across the front in red and blue tackle twill is “Angels” with Carew’s number “29” below, while the back of the jersey has his name “CAREW” stitched directly across the back with the number “29 below also in red and blue tackle twill. The lower front tail has the “W.A. Goodman & Sons 42” manufacturers’ size tag. The left shoulder contains the Angles insignia patch. The Jersey shows evidence of nice game use with light dirt stains on the left shoulder and loose stitching. This jersey comes with a full LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey a perfect A-10.
