Gary Sheffield was wrapping up his long career in 2009 when he signed with the New York Mets. In his two decades in the Majors he played for eight clubs, won a World Series, a batting championship and made nine All-Star teams – but he still wasn’t finished. On April 17 Sheff connected for his 500th homer, only the 25th player in the history of the game to reach that mark. Sheff’s 2009 Louisville Slugger R161 model bat displays outstanding use with a cracked handle. Sheff’s number “3” is hand written on both ends and he has signed the barrel in silver pen with “500 HR CLUB”. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B10307) who have graded this bat a GU 9 and a COA from PSA/DNA (AB98613).
