“Pro Stock Model Bats” were ordered by a ball club to have on hand for their players to use when they wanted to swing something different, try another style or ran out of their own models. These bats were the same signature models used by the greats of the game: DiMaggio, Gehrig, Foxx… and Babe Ruth. What player wouldn’t have wanted to try out the very model The Babe was using to set the baseball world aflame in the early 1920’s? Measuring 35” long and weighting 35.6 ounces, the Hillerich & Bradsby bat was based off of Ruth’s personal “R2” model specs. The bat shows heavy use with a handle crack and slight checking from repeated ball contact. Ball marks and stitch impressions coat the barrel and cleat imprints are found on the back barrel. The center brand is of the type used during the years 1923-1925. The bat sports the special “Bone Rubbed” stamping on the upper handle identifying the type of finish. A great bat from baseball’s golden era made to the specifications of the game’s greatest slugger and it comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B09061).
