With the arrival of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, the Boston Celtics rode the new “Big 3” of Garnett, Allen and incumbent star Paul Pierce to the franchise’s NBA high 17th World Championship in 2008. The trio nearly led the Celtics back to glory in 2010, ultimately losing a hard-fought seven-game series with arch rival Los Angeles Lakers.
This size 3XL Adidas Boston Celtics road alternate jersey was worn by Kevin Garnett during the 2012-13 season, his final season with the Celtics where he still averaged a respectable 14.8 points per game before his off-season blockbuster trade to the Brooklyn Nets that also included Paul Pierce. This green mesh jersey has “BOSTON” sewn on across the chest in black and white tackle twill with Garnett’s number “5” sewn on in black mesh with white stitching on green tackle twill below, along with the NBA logo embroidered on the upper left chest. The collar and open arms are a black ribbed material and a 2 ½ inch black stripe runs vertical down each side. The back of the jersey has “GARNETT” sewn on directly to the jersey in white tackle twill with his number “5” sewn on in the same black mesh, white stitching and green tackle twill combo. A white shamrock is sewn on the upper back neck above his name. The Adidas tag with a (LENGTH +4”) flap and NBA AUTHENTICS tag with an ID number BCE01270 are sewn on the bottom front left tail. This moderately game used jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
