In 2010, at age 17, Bryce Harper was one of the most highly touted ballplayers to come along in a generation. As MLB’s Number 1 draft pick, the teen-ager joined the Washington Nationals Fall Instructional League team and led the team in hits, homers, RBIs and walks. It was a harbinger of the future, for in two short years Harper would be the National League’s Rookie of the Year and baseball’s brightest star.
In place of the customary name stamping, Harper had the factory stamp the bible verse “Luke 1:37” (“For with God nothing shall be impossible”) on the barrel. The Marucci BH34 model bat shows outstanding use with a slight handle crack. The barrel shows many ball marks with stitch impressions along with blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. Cleat imprints and the impression of a weighted batting donut can be seen. The handle has been taped in a spiral then crisscross pattern to enhance the grip. A heavy coat of pine tar has been applied to the handle. A great “been there” early Bryce Harper bat. This bat comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B10304) who have graded this bat a GU 9.5.
