Offered is a typed letter signed by Branch Rickey and addressed to Brooklyn Dodgers owner Walter O’Malley. Rickey signed this letter in black ink, which is dated January 20^th, 1945, and measures 7 ¼ x 10 ½ inches. This blue-typed letter reads:

“Dear Walter:

                The Baseball Writers Dinner will be given on Sunday evening, February 4^th, at the Astor Hotel. I hope very much that you will be our guest on that occasion.

                Since there is to be a printed guest list I shall appreciate your telephoning my office at your earliest convenience, indicating that you can come.

                The other day, after you had gone, a box of cigars was found on the dresser. Thank you much for your thoughtful kindness, and for taking time from a busy day to stop by and see me.

The letter is slightly toned due to age but presents beautifully and is on Brooklyn Dodgers letterhead with “Branch Rickey President”. Two punched holes are at the top and an illegible handwritten not is on the top left corner. This signed letter comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA07805).
