After signing a record contract to join the Texas Rangers in 2000, Alex Rodriguez was nearly traded to the Boston Red Sox before the start of the 2004 season. Rodriguez and the Red Sox had agreed to restructure his deal, but the Players Association did not approve of the altered deal. The New York Yankees seized upon the opportunity to add Rodriguez to their already potent lineup and struck the deal with the Rangers.
Offered is the Russell Athletic size 50 home New York Yankees button-down pinstripe jersey that was worn by Rodriguez during the 2004 season, his first in the Bronx. The jersey features the traditional interlocking “NY” sewn on in navy blue tackle twill on the upper left chest. A-Rod’s number “13” is sewn on in back in navy blue and the MLB logo patch sewn on the upper back neck. The Russell athletic tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail with a (2” EXTRA LENGTH) flap attached along with a “2004” tag. The jersey shows light wear with comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
