Dolf will forever sit in the pantheon of baseball lore as one of the first Cuban players to achieve mainstream success in the US and the first true Latin superstar to play in the states. His career was highlighted by his 1923 season where he led the league with 27 wins, and a 1.93 ERA for the Reds. Dolf’s 194 career wins and three World Series rings earned him a spot in the Reds HOF while many in the game believe he should be enshrined in Cooperstown as well. The Luque autograph is super rare and highly desirable among collectors. Less than a handful of examples have ever appeared at auction with single signed premium items nearly impossible to find. This contract from the end of his career exhibits edge chipping and some brown spots due to age but the signature is bold and strong and one of the finest examples of his autograph to exist!
