The brain behind the arms of the 1986 World Series champion New York Mets former big league hurler Mel Stottlemyre served as the Mets pitching coach during some of the team’s best seasons from 1984-1993. Stottlemyre wore this size-44 Rawlings New York Mets pullover V-neck road jersey during the team’s magical 1987 season. Stottlemyre’s name is sewn directly to the back of the jersey in blue and orange tackle twill above his number 30 in the pattern. “New York” is sewn on in cursive script in the same blue and orange tackle twill above his number 30 on the front. Blue and orange piping runs across the shoulders and along the sides of the jersey. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
