Two great catchers have singled-signed these two baseballs that are presented in this lot. Bill Dickey, winner of an astounding eight World Series titles with the New York Yankees in the 1930s and 1940s, redefined the catcher’s position due to his amazing durability. Dickey, elected to the Hall of Fame in 1954, set an MLB record by catching 100 or more games in 13 consecutive seasons. This off-white Official American League Lee MacPhail baseball features Dickey’s signature in black ink on the side panel. The Rawlings and commissioner’s stampings are faded and the ball does display toning and blemishes, none of which interfere with Dickey’s signature. The signed baseball comes with a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (W67837).

The second baseball has been signed by Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame catcher Roy Campanella, who had his career short by a horrific car crash that left him paralyzed. He was a three-time National League MVP and helped the Dodgers win the 1955 World Series. Campanella signed this official Rawlings National League William D. White baseball in blue ink across the sweet spot. The baseball is a creamy white color with only minor stain on the sweet spot, but Campanella’s signature is still intact. The signature is clear and is a post-accident signature. This signed baseball comes with a STICKER ONLY from JSA (X17054).
